All schools will have a delayed opening on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. School begins at 10:00 a.m. Student arrival begins at 9:45 a.m.

Today is Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day. It is a federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. It is celebrated annually on June 19th, the date in 1865 when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced the freedom of enslaved people, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

On May 24th, our Highland students have been invited to take part in the Midland Park Memorial Day Parade. Students have an opportunity to be part of the parade, be a part of the flag raising ceremony, and enjoy the ceremonies afterward.
