Godwin School Art
This Word Design was made by Taylor V. during the Week of Respect.
The Godwin students take part in school wide themes
as well as learning about famous people.
The first and second grade pioneers were chosen with the academic subjects in mind. Some of the famous personages they visit with are Marco Polo, Noah Webster, Beatrix Potter, Johann Gutenberg, Paul Revere, Leif Ericson, and Walt Disney.
Each pioneer has at least one art activity that focuses on a particular art skill as well as honoring the pioneer in some way. The study of Marco Polo paves the way for the study of Chinese art while Paul Revere is used to discuss how different artists portray famous events as well as looking at art occupations. The program allows the flexibility to rotate projects and artists within each pioneer unit.
